Implementation Guidelines for Master’s Degree Academic Scholarships

1.    This is in accordance to “Aletheia University Master’s Degree Academic Scholarship Guidelines” as set and implemented by the Department of Business Administration (hereafter referred to as “Guidelines”).

2.    The scholarship amount is divided and awarded to the MBA student every semester.

3.    These guidelines cover academic scholarships, grants, and other scholarship types:

a.    Academic Scholarship (accounts for 27% of the total)

                                          i.    Two Master’s Degree freshmen students will be selected based on the admission examination before enrolment, together with the highest-ranking student from the entrance examination, who will be respectively awarded 4.5% each.

                                        ii.    Top three Master’s Degree students during the second semester of the first year and first semester of the second year, will be respectively awarded 4.5% each.

b.    Grants (accounts for 73% of the total)

                                          i.    The grant is awarded per semester, divided into five (5) monthly subsidies. Application is open to all registered Master’s Degree students who do not have demerits in their record. Application period is scheduled before the start of each semester – please refer to the online announcement on the Department website.

                                        ii.    For graduate students interested to participate in international academic conferences, please refer to separate implementation guidelines.

4.    Students awarded with academic scholarships are not required to provide related work or assistance to the Department. However, if the student happens to receive suspension or to withdraw from the program within the awarding period, the scholarship is automatically deemed cancelled. The next highest-ranking graduate student will be selected as the new recipient.

5.    Students who receive grants are required to provide related work or assistance to the Department. If at any time, the student is not able to deliver good performance as decided by the supervisor, the awarding of monthly subsidies will be cancelled.

6.    These guidelines will take effect starting August 1, 2010.

7.    Amendments to these guidelines will take effect as decided upon the Department meeting.
